A busy fishing village, Port Fairy is also a unique place to catch a glimpse of whales off the coast or fur seals on Lady Julia Percy Island. A mecca of history buffs, Port Fairy boasts 1880s style architecture and public buildings reflecting the time of Victoria’s early settlers, and Warrnambool boasts a number of attractions such as Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum (voucher provided) as well as restaurants shopping and sightseeing. The swimming bays and beaches are ideal spots for relaxation or for travellers to try a hand at water sports. The Crags, a short distance away, provide panoramic views and rugged coastline that make great landscape photos.

For Groupies traversing the Great Ocean Road from Adelaide to Melbourne, or vice versa, Port Fairy is an ideal locale to stretch the legs and feel the salty sea breeze. The Great Ocean Road traces a winding route along Victoria’s dramatic coastline, where sheer limestone cliffs are buffeted by rolling surf, and the Twelve Apostles rise like colossal statues out of the sea.
